Peer Review Process

The Journal of Social Science and Multidisciplinary Enquiry (JSSME) follows a transparent, structured review system to ensure the integrity and quality of every published paper. The flowchart and steps below show how a manuscript moves from submission to publication.

    Manuscript submission

    Authors submit their manuscripts through the journal's online submission system. Each article must be submitted only once.

    An acknowledgment email is sent within 3–5 working days of submission.

    Step 2
    Initial editorial screening

    The editor screens every submission to check:

    • relevance to the journal's scope
    • compliance with formatting and referencing requirements
    • originality, including a Turnitin similarity check

    Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria may be returned for correction or declined before peer review.

    Step 3
    Peer review

    Manuscripts that pass screening are sent to at least two independent reviewers for double-blind peer review. Reviewers evaluate the manuscript's quality, accuracy, and contribution to the field.

    Reviewer recommendation

    Each reviewer recommends one of the following:

    • Accept
    • Minor or major revision
    • Reject

    Authors may be invited to revise and resubmit the manuscript in response to reviewer feedback.

    Revision and editorial assessment

    Revised manuscripts must be submitted within the specified timeframe, usually 2–4 weeks, together with a response letter addressing each reviewer comment.

    The editor assesses the revised version and may send it for further review if necessary.

    Final decision

    Based on the editorial and reviewer evaluations, the editor issues a final decision:

    • Accept for publication
    • Request further revision
    • Reject

    Accepted manuscripts proceed to production.

    Copyediting and proofreading

    Accepted papers are copyedited and proofread for consistency, accuracy, and readability.

    Authors receive proofs for final checking. Only minor corrections are accepted at this stage.

    Online publication

    Final articles are published online with full citation details and a DOI (Digital Object Identifier), and are made discoverable through the services listed on the journal's indexing page.

    Publication complete

    The article becomes part of the journal's permanent record. Authors are encouraged to link it to their ORCID, Google Scholar, and institutional profiles.
