Author Guidelines

The Journal of Social Science and Multidisciplinary Enquiry (JSSME) welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the social sciences and related interdisciplinary fields. Authors are encouraged to carefully review the following guidelines before submission.

1. Manuscript Types

JSSME accepts the following categories of submissions:

  • Original Research Articles: Empirical or theoretical studies (5,000–8,000 words)
  • Review Articles: Comprehensive analyses of existing literature (4,000–6,000 words)
  • Case Studies / Short Communications: Concise reports or focused analyses (2,000–4,000 words)

2. Language

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, grammatically correct English.
  • Either UK or US spelling may be used, but consistency throughout the paper is required.

3. Formatting

(Authors may use the official JSSME manuscript template, available on the journal website.)

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 10 pt, 1.15 line spacing
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Headings: Use a clear hierarchy (e.g., 1, 1.1, 1.1.1)

4. Manuscript Structure

Each submission should be organized as follows:

  • Title Page: Title, author names, institutional affiliations, ORCID iDs, and contact details for the corresponding author.
  • Abstract: 150–250 words summarizing objectives, methods, results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: 4–6 relevant terms.
  • Main Text: Typically includes Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion.
  • References: Formatted according to the APA (7th Edition) citation style.

5. Tables and Figures

  • Insert tables and figures near their first mention in the text.
  • Each should include a clear, descriptive caption.
  • Figures must be of high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).
  • Use APA 7th editions for table formatting

6. Citations and References

  • Use APA (7th Edition) style for all in-text citations and reference lists.
  • In-text citation format: (Author, Year).
  • All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list.

7. Ethical Standards

  • Research involving human or animal participants must comply with recognized ethical standards.
  • Manuscripts should include statements of ethical approval and participant consent where applicable.
  • All potential conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

8. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted via the JSSME Online Submission System.
  • All submissions undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.
  • Authors will typically receive a decision within 6–8 weeks of submission.

9. Open Access Policy

JSSME operates under a full open-access model, ensuring free and unrestricted access to all published content.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
