Author Guidelines

Thank you for considering the Journal of Computer Science and Technological Enquiry (JCSTE) for the publication of your research. To ensure high academic standards, ethical integrity, and an efficient peer-review process, authors are required to carefully follow the guidelines outlined below when preparing and submitting their manuscripts.

1. Scope of the Journal

JCSTE publishes original and high-quality scholarly works in computer science, technology, and allied interdisciplinary fields. The journal accepts the following article types: original research articles, review papers, short communications, and case studies.

The journal’s scope includes, but is not limited to:

• Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science
• Computer Networks, Cloud Computing, and Cybersecurity
• Internet of Things (IoT) and Robotic Automation
• Software Engineering and Systems Development
• Human–Computer Interaction (HCI)
• Interdisciplinary Applications of Computing and Technology

2. Submission Format

• File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
• Font: Georgia, 10-point size
• Line spacing: 1.5
• Layout: Single column
• Language: English (US or UK spelling, used consistently throughout the manuscript)

3. Manuscript Structure

Manuscripts should be prepared in the following order:

1. Title Page – Title of the paper, author name(s), institutional affiliation(s), and corresponding author’s email address
2. Abstract – 150–200 words summarizing objectives, methodology, key findings, and conclusions
3. Keywords – 3–6 relevant keywords
4. Introduction
5. Methodology
6. Results
7. Discussion
8. Conclusion
9. Acknowledgements (optional)
10. References – formatted in APA (7th edition) or IEEE style

4. Figures and Tables

• Figures and tables must be numbered consecutively (e.g., Figure 1, Table 1)
• All figures and tables should be of high quality with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi
• Figure captions must appear below figures
• Table titles must appear above tables
• All figures and tables must be cited in the text

5. Plagiarism Policy

JCSTE enforces a strict plagiarism policy to ensure originality and academic integrity. All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.

• The overall similarity index must not exceed 30%
• Similarity from any single source must not exceed 3%
• Plagiarism, self-plagiarism, excessive similarity, or manipulated citations will result in immediate rejection
• Manuscripts failing to meet plagiarism standards may be returned to authors for correction or rejected outright

If plagiarism is detected after publication, the article may be retracted, and appropriate actions may be taken in accordance with publication ethics.

6. Ethical Requirements

• Submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere
• Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise
• All authors are responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and ethical compliance of the manuscript

7. Data Availability Statement

To promote transparency and reproducibility, authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement in their manuscripts.

• Authors should specify whether supporting data are publicly available, available upon reasonable request, or restricted due to ethical, legal, or confidentiality concerns
• Where applicable, datasets, code, or supplementary materials should be deposited in recognized repositories with persistent links (e.g., DOI or repository URL)

8. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use Policy

JCSTE permits the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools in research and manuscript preparation under the following conditions:

• AI tools may be used only as supportive tools (e.g., language editing, grammar checking, coding assistance)
• AI tools must not be listed as authors
• Authors retain full responsibility for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of the content
• Any significant use of AI tools (e.g., text generation, data analysis, or figure creation) must be clearly disclosed in the manuscript (e.g., in the Acknowledgements or a dedicated statement)

Undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI tools may result in rejection or post-publication corrective action.

9. Peer-Review Process

All submissions to JCSTE undergo a double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts to ensure fairness, objectivity, and academic rigor.

10. Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant JCSTE the right to publish the article. All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) License, unless otherwise stated.
